Paul Olckers - Factory, Health & Safety Manager at Monkeytoe talks about why they made the move from Kanban to QUICKSTOCK.

Tell us a bit about Monkeytoe

Monkeytoe Group, we’re leaders in any roof access or height safety, roof safety projects. We also specialise in any structural aluminium work, whether it be bespoke stairs or bridges. Basically we do it all.

How did you manage consumable stock inventory before QUICKSTOCK?

Before Monkeytoe got the QUICKSTOCK system we were using a Kanban system for our consumables out in the workshop, which being efficient, it was quite cumbersome at times. Dealing with all the different cards, you had cards going missing, guys forgetting to put in cards so you’d run out of stock and have to rush things last minute. It was just common sense to make the move to QUICKSTOCK

What led you to exploring your options in how you managed consumable stock inventory?

I was actually approached by Euromarc, who then offered us the QUICKSTOCK system. We had a bit of a look at it, weighed the pros to the cons, and the pros definitely outweighed the cons. It was just a no-brainer.

Were there any hurdles with getting used to QUICKSTOCK?

The only hurdle, if you could call it a hurdle would have been just to make sure we had all the right stuff in the cabinets that suited our operation. Euromarc worked together with us to make sure we swapped out what we didn’t need in the cabinet and had only the essentials put in there and regularly topped up.

How would you say QUICKSTOCK has improved your business?

‘QUICKSTOCK has improved Monkeytoe by having stock on hand, lots of it, and less downtime of ordering. We’d definitely recommend QUICKSTOCK, it has improved things at Monkeytoe and sped the processes up.’
