Betteridge Engineering, Wellington - Success Story

'Having a Speedglas™ ... this is exactly the same, for half the price of it and it’s just as good.'

We talk to Raymond - Welder/Fabricator at Betteridge Engineering about why they've bought 5 TECMEN TM1000 Flip Front Helmets with FreFlow Respirators for the team!

Tell us a little bit about Betteridge Engineering...

At Betteridge we’re mainly structural stainless steel engineers, so we make the structural skeletons for warehouses, commercial buildings, seismic strengthening, and just a lot of heavy metal.

What were you using before you tried the Tecmen TM1000 + Respirator?

Before this helmet I was using just the basic Millar helmet with the 3m respirator mask. Since Euromarc came in and gave us a tester it opened my eyes up to what this helmet can do and how much fumes it can stop you from breathing in. That’s why I really wanted to buy one of these helmets. Using flux core this helmet really helps because it stops you from breathing in any harmful fumes that cause cancer.

Why did you decide to buy TECMEN helmets for the team?

Because it was better than the one that I had. Overall it was a good helmet, it had the true colour technology, not having a green shade lens, having a clear view, plus having the flip up grinding face shield as well. That came in handy.

Would you recommend a TECMEN welding helmet to other metal engineers?

Yup I would recommend it because its overall a good helmet compared to what’s on the market at the moment. Having a Speedglas™ which is 10x the price, whereas compared to this, which is exactly the same, for half the price of it and it’s just as good.
