In this training guide, we'll walk you through the process of changing the lens on your TECMEN TM1000 Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet. Whether you're experiencing reduced vision, flickering in the auto-darkening filter, or damage to the lens, these steps will help you maintain the optimal performance of your TM1000 helmet.

Identifying Signs of Replacement

Generally, you'll need to replace your front or inside cover lens or filter when signs of soiling or damage appear. Watch out for flickering or non-darkening auto-darkening filters and reduced vision. If you notice any of these signs, it's time for a lens replacement.

Understanding the Components

The TM1000 helmet comprises various replaceable parts, including the outside cover lens, inside cover lens, and the auto-darkening filter. Familiarize yourself with these components before proceeding with the replacement.

Removing the Front Lens Holder

Begin by removing the front lens holder. This step is crucial for accessing the auto-darkening filter and the lenses.

Replacing the Auto-Darkening Filter

Press your thumb on the bottom sides of the auto-darkening filter and push it upward to remove it. If the outside cover lens is damaged, it needs replacement. To remove the front lens holder, place your fingernail in the recess above the filter view window and flex the lens upwards until it releases from the edges.

Changing the Cover Lenses

The same technique applies to the inside cover lens. Flex the lens upwards until it releases from the edges. To replace the inside cover lens, simply slot the new lens in the same way it was removed. The outside cover lens can be replaced by installing one side into the slot, followed by the other side.

Replacing the Auto-Darkening Filter

Insert the auto-darkening filter into the slots on the left and right sides and push down until it clicks into place. Finally, replace the front lens holder by fitting one side into the slot and pressing the other side down to lock it into place.

Grinding Lens Replacement

If you need to replace the grinding lens, remove the grind lens holder. Pop out the grind lens using the same technique as with the other lenses. Insert the new grind lens and replace the grind lens holder.

Congratulations! You've successfully changed the lens on your TECMEN Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet. Regular lens maintenance ensures optimal performance and clear vision during your welding activities. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. Happy welding!
