In this maintenance guide, we'll walk you through the essential steps to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TECMEN PAPR Unit. Proper cleaning and storage practices are crucial for the extended life of your respiratory protection system.

Daily End-of-Use Routine

It's crucial to clean and prepare your PAPR unit at the end of each day to maintain its long-term performance. All respirator components should be cleaned, inspected, and readied for their next use.

Cleaning Your Welding Helmet or Face Shield

Wipe down your welding helmet or face shield with a soft cloth. Clean filter surfaces regularly without using strong cleaning solutions. For sensors and solar cells, use methylated spirits and a clean cloth, wiping dry with a lint-free cloth.

Blower Unit and Battery Pack Maintenance

Clean the blower unit and battery pack with a soft cloth dampened with mild, pH neutral detergent. Avoid getting water inside the body, and refrain from using solvents or abrasive cleaners. Ensure electrical contacts are dry before reassembly.

Breathing Tube Care

Wiping the exterior of the breathing tube is not enough. Clean the outer hose and connection using a soft cloth dipped in a water and detergent solution. The breathing tube must be completely dry before use or storage. Do not immerse it in liquid for cleaning; replace the tube if it gets wet.

Filter Inspection and Replacement

Open the filter cover and inspect the filters. While filters cannot be cleaned, the spark screen can be wiped with a soft cloth dipped in a mild pH neutral detergent solution. Ensure it's completely dry before reassembly. Replace any excessively dirty, wet, or damaged filters or spark screens.

Safe Storage Practices

Your TECMEN PAPR system is not intrinsically safe and should be stored away from flammable or explosive atmospheres. Store in a clean, dry, cool place alongside the filters.

Temperature and Light Considerations

The blower unit must be stored at temperatures between -10 degrees Celsius and 55 degrees Celsius, in a clean environment without direct light exposure.

Battery Maximisation

To maximise battery life, disconnect the charger after it is fully charged. If stored for an extended period, remove the battery from the blower and store it at temperatures between -10 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius.

By following these comprehensive maintenance steps, you ensure the continued performance and longevity of your TECMEN PAPR Unit. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Breathe easy, and work confidently with TECMEN's advanced respiratory protection.
